I shot a Covid Wedding in London!!!

So I should have over 20 weddings to blog about right now but stupid Covid ruined that! Anyone else wish 2020 just hadn’t happened! Hating all those ‘oh lockdown’s been great, it’s been great spending time at home blah blah’ people! For anyone in the wedding industry it’s truly sucked and my heart goes out to each and every one of my amazing industry friends who have been impacted.

I love this job and it hurt every single weekend I should have had a wedding but instead I wasn’t.

On the plus side (desperately trying to find one), the one wedding that I do have to blog about is a bloody epic one!!!!!

Livi and Giles decided to bite to bullet and have a Covid friendly wedding at their original ceremony venue, Middle Temple Church, London. They then had a champagne reception within the grounds at Middle Temple and then moved onto their lovely home in Tooting for a garden reception with their immediate family.

Before bridal prep, I arrived at Middle Temple and then had my usual scope out. Major excitement as I walked past the supreme court where everyone was waiting for Johnny Depp to arrive!

I meet Livi, along with her sister and dad, at her fathers office around the corner from Middle Temple. We only had 10 minutes of ‘bridal prep’ as Livi only planned to put on her dress here. But there was an amazing window and Livi looked stunning so we had a little mini shoot. I also found a wall of plants which also made for a great Bride shot.

Livi then walked to the church through the streets of London, which I always love capturing. You have a real mix of typical Londoners not noticing anything and then the odd cabby or honking his horn.

The only ‘Covid’ weirdness at this point was Livi having to walk down the aisle 2 meters apart from her father. Other than that it felt like a normal small intimate wedding.

Can we talk about bubble confetti please… it’s cool and a great alternative for those ‘confetti is not allowed’ venues.

Major happy points as I found a green house! Everyone knows I love a green house, it diffuses harsh light and they normally have green stuff too!

If you’re thinking of saying ‘screw you Covid’ and want to plan a small ceremony or elopement get in touch! Don’t get me wrong, I love a big wedding but there is something extremely special about these smaller ceremonies that I love capturing.
